Corgi Gift Set 40. The Avengers. Near mint plus/boxed. Very scarce first issue with GREEN BENTLEY, with 3 original umbrellas & packing. From a most knowledgeable and enthusiastic collector in South London.
Notes
This is a close-to-mint, all original and complete example; the first issue version with the rare green Bentley.
Issued between 1966-69, this set would have been released at the start of the production run.
The set comprises:
1)John Steed’s Bentley in green and black finish, correct for this set with red metal wire wheels. Complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. In close to mint condition (occasional tiny mark/little edge rub). Fine original tyres.
2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in sparkling white finish.Close to mint with a few small marks at some exposed edges. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.
Three plastic umbrellas (all originals).
Inner card plinth is bright and crisp, with vivid illustrations. Virtually pristine.
The colourful card outer box is complete and strongly-coloured. Note the curious light’ singeing’ at one edge. Minor age wear/grubbiness besides.
