This model came from a small cache of old shop stock models recently purchased by a long-standing collector in the U.K.
Issued between 1962-68, this off-white ambulance has a longer red side stripe at the sides and the first example we have ever offered for sale with a red interior. Complete with stretcher and patient, both seated figures, intact delicate roof beacon and siren. ‘Ambulance’ window sign is intact on both sides (clear glass). Suspension on bright shaped spun wheels. Fine tread as-new tyres. Matte baseplate. Opening rear door.
A few little marks and a couple of areas where the casting is rough.
Bright card box is the version with one large internal end flap with a serrated strip (still in place and firmly attached). Light mottling’ on one side. Card feels crisp. No tears or graffiti.
