Corgi Gift Set 3 Batmobile & Batboat Set. Sought-after version. Near mint plus-very, very near mint/boxed. From The New European Collection.
Notes
The New European collection richly evoking the period between the late 1950?s through to the mid 1970?s, this large collection has been lovingly compiled by an enthusiast with particular emphasis on point of sale, including original cabinets and literature, prototypes, promotional items, alongside a high quality collection of individual models and Gift Sets.
A most desirable scarce Corgi set and a difficult find in any condition.
Particularly susceptible to damage is the very attractive large colourful window box with a winged header card. This colourfully-illustrated 1st issue has plenty of atmospheric artwork (with absolutely no sunfading!) on the complete and intact header card. All end flaps are present a(although note the repaired tear emanating from one large end flap). Couple of smaller tears besides. No graffiti. Original cellophane is in place but do note a few small tears.
Lots of information on the box reverse.
This set comprises:
1) Corgi 267 Batmobile with both original seated figures of Batman and Robin. This is the tow hook version (correct for this set). Intact blue screens. Suspension on ’Bat wheels (note that instead of gold immediately surrounding the Bat logo, it is silver on one wheel, the rest are standard). All functions operate well; chain cutter, rocket launcher and pulsating flame. Bright Bat logos on the wheels and complete and bright Bat logos at both sides of the Batmobile. Intact original aerial.
Chip at rear bumper edge and a couple of smaller marks besides.
2) Corgi 107 Batboat. Early issue with the attractive tin fin. Batboat sits on a cast-wheeled gold trailer. Complete paper labels on both sides of the boat – most minor age wear only. Both original seated figures.
Both items sit in a yellow plastic inner, which has one small edge chip only. This type of brittle plastic is so susceptible to tearing – this example has fared better than most!
The* Instruction Packet* is opened and inside you will find a sprue of yellow missiles (3 detached), badge and the Instruction Leaflet. All original accessories.
