C270
Corgi 270 James Bond Aston Martin. Very near mint/boxed. 'Winged' box first issue with Secret Instruction Packet. From 'The New European' Collection.
Notes
First issue from 1968.
This sought-after James Bond Aston Martin model is in totally original condition. The silver Aston Martin with silver bumpers has the opening roof feature with the ejector seat mechanism working perfectly. Both figures of James Bond and villain are still seated inside. All functions work well. It has the rear bullet screen which can be raised and lowered, telescopic over-riders, retractable machine guns, revolving number plates and of course the red tyre slasher blades on the rear wheels. The suspension is notably fine on detailed spoked wheels. Fine original tyres.
Note that the number plates have been added. Couple of little chips to the lower edge of the front number plate section. Easily overlooked!
Slightly larger than the 261 James Bond Aston Martin, this model is presented in the most attractive, 1st issue ‘winged box’.
These elaborate boxes so easily get torn or crumpled. This one has fared better than most, since it has been carefully stored and has barely been handled. The clear ‘blister’ is notably undamaged with none of the usual tearing from the card backdrop or indeed any separation from the card at the front. No tears or grubbiness either. The header card is fine and crisp with vivid graphics which have lost none of their vibrancy. Few light creases on the ‘wings’. Tiny corner ruffle. Small area of surface loss to the white card section which folds underneath the semi-circular cut-out. Minor wear besides.
Pristine removable card plinth Inside, we have the all-important, carefully opened , very fresh and clean Secret Instruction Packet!
Inside, of course, you will find the Secret Instructions, the number plates (some applied to the car), the badge and a spare villain. All original!
A most attractive, iconic James Bond item.
