Notes
The Monty Calme landmark Corgi Collection, covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
Monty says:
“This white Land-Rover was made to celebrate the ten millionth produced. It was a special issue made for senior company officials and certain toy dealer principals. Very rare. I have never seen another”.
A first for QDT, too, this Land Rover has survived very well indeed especially considering it was unboxed. The standard issued was issued between 1977-80 and finished in bright orange with a black roof rack and ladder, spare wheel.
This is one of the small batch finished in white to mark the achievement of selling 10 million Corgi Land Rover models!
This example has a bright red detailed interior, and intact black tow hook. Opening rear door. Window glazing. Grey bumper and base. White paper labels with ‘10 Millionth CORGI Land-Rover’ printed in blue on both doors. Minor age grubbiness. Few minor marks only to the paint finish. In all original condition.
