C474
Corgi 474 Musical Wall's Ice Cream Van. Very, very near mint/boxed. With WORKING CHIMES. Card stand, packing ring and wrap-around card. Unapplied stickers on backing sheet. Instruction Leaflet. One of the best surviving examples. From 'The Monty Calme' Corgi Collection.
Notes
One of the most eagerly sought-after Corgi models, especially in this completely unused condition with fully working chimes and all accessories.
The Ford Thames Van has a shining blue and cream finish with colourful awning and decorative trimmings, sliding windows and notably when you turn the handle the chimes play the complete tune (5 notes)! Bright plated fittings and complete ’Wall’s’ transfers on both sides. What refreshing change to see the clear windows and sliding doors – so often they are misted on the inside. One tiny mark that you have to hunt for if you want to fault this model.
Nice to see that this example comes with the crisp and bright colourful card stand, the card packing ring and the wrap-around card packing piece. Full set of unapplied labels on a backing sheet. Instruction Leaflet/Corgi Club Membership Form is included too. All correct and all original.
The decorative card box is very crisp, clean and bright. Hard to fault. Faintest period price at an end flap.
If you have been looking for a very fine example to come along, then your wait is over.
A truly nostalgic piece with lots of appeal!
