Notes

A scarce set issued between 1967-69 comprising:
1) Corgi 490 VW Breakdown Truck, shaped spun wheels with suspension. A little mark to the paint finish at the widscreen edge and a minute amount of blue colour showing due to contact with the deep blue inner. May be possible to carefully remove. Small area of rough casting on one side. With strung tow hook, red VW emblem, complete “RACING CLUB” paper labels on both sides (faint crease to one). Both spare wheels are present, as well as an intact opening red plastic tool box, complete with all the chrome tools. Chevron paper label at rear.

2) Corgi 156 Cooper-Maserati on a red trailer with detailed cast wheels. Trailer is in unused condition. Little “underspray” in a small area on one side. Detailed deep blue racer with driver, steering wheel and windscreen. Few little marks head-on.

The contents are housed in a distinctive and most attractive card picture box with a flip-up colourful backdrop for display. Just a small tear at the opening hinges. Very clean, with strong vivid colours on sturdy card.

Inner has no tears, colours are vivid. Both winged card pieces are intact which may be used to prop open the box on display. Little light handling wear and tape residue at the lower front edge.
All in all, this is a scarce and appealing two-piece Gift Set.
