Original Corgi Prototype of Kermit in Flying Boat. Sensational item from 'The New European' Collection.
Price: £1,270.00
This item is no longer for sale, price for reference only.
Notes
An exceptional collection of prototypes were purchased by ‘The New European’ Collector, largely originating from two well-documented sources i.e. the auction of the property of Marcel Van Cleemput at Sotheby’s Auction House in 1999 and the Losch Auction House in Germany during 2000.
Pictured in The Great Book of Corgi, this model never went into production. So this is a unique and precious find (page 470 in ‘The Great Book of Corgi’). The irrepressible character of Kermit at the helm with one wiry arm aloft (notably complete with ‘thumb’ intact). An unforgettable, comic invention.
The Flying Boat in gold, green and orange has both ‘eyes’ and paper labels.
In its unassembled state:
Minor wear including the occasional chip and the only propellor ‘nose’ remains now.
Measures approx. 9 cms
