Corgi Gift Set 40

Notes

This model was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is a close to mint, all original example, issued between 1966-69. This version with the gold-wheeled, red Bentley is an especially difficult find.
The set was originally exported to the U.S. (note the 5 dollar shop label at one end flap), and comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, is in very close to mint condition complete with all delicate parts intact. With original figure of John Steed. The gold wheels have picked up a few little rubs along the way. Occasional little dot to the paint finish.
2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in white finish. This model has a few more marks, mostly at the boot area. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Original figure of Emma Peel.

Nearly always all missing – this set comes with three original umbrellas! These are notably the originals ? so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet, but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ?rolled-up? cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!

The eye-catching card plinth is in excellent condition with bright graphics. Just a little wear at a wheel slot. Few small stains on the yellow base caused by the models. Original card packing piece which slides underneath is still in place. Both tabs are present and intact. Card feels crisp. Vivid colours. Some of the slots have the push-out tabs still in place.

Original card wrap-around piece is clean, bright and tear-free.

Colourful outer box is bright and complete. Very minor seam tear. Minor surface rubbing on one picture side. Little ruffle/light wear besides.
