Notes

A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
We are especially delighted to offer one of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69.
The James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. Suspension is present but rather soft on wire wheels. Original tyres are well-shaped. This Aston Martin DB5 model has a lustrous intense, deep toffee-gold finish – an especially attractive example, since often the Aston comes in a variety of shades. Note the light tan ejector roof interior too, coupled with a bright red interior. A rare version.
Please see our Blog for more information on Corgi 261 in general.

Few minor marks only. Roof sits flush.
The plinth on which the model sits is clean and intensely-coloured. Note that it is the second issue version with ‘Secret Instructions’ arrow. No tears, but a few light surface scratches which are easily overlooked to the colourfully art work in one small area.

The Instruction Packet is still sealed so inside there will be the all important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders. All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet will also contain the unapplied 007 badge affixed to the backing sheet, and the spare villain figure. Note the additional leaflet ‘Model Car Makers to James Bond’, present with some issues.

The outer box is the second issue style – note the shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face, as well as the thick black border around the JAMES BOND?S lettering, too. Strongly-coloured. Light staining at an end flap. Very minor age-handling wear besides. One of the most difficult James Bond models to find.
