C811
Corgi 811 James Bond Moon Buggy. Very near mint/boxed. From 'The Monty Calme' Corgi Collection.
Notes
A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
This James Bond Moon Buggy inspired by the film ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ is in superb, totally unused condition with a complete paper label at the front of the model. The ‘arms’ are bright and untarnished and keep their position well (they do not flop at the sides!) and
the red scanner revolves slowly as the Buggy moves along.
The roof opening mechanism which causes the figure of James Bond to pop up when the hatch flips open has never been used – so it is extremely stiff now and is untested by us, since force may break the delicate mechanism.
Little chip on the white platform may be seen and there are a few of the tiniest dots besides.
The fragile window box is especially difficult to find with original cellophane. This example has original and intact cellophane! Colours are vibrant. Card has very minor handling wear only. No graffiti or tears. Attractive inner backdrop (moon scene) too.
A fine and desirable James Bond item made between 1972-74.
