D918
Dinky 918 Guy Van "Ever Ready". Very near mint/boxed. From a beautiful, single-owner collection, some 25 years in the making.
Notes
A classic Supertoy from the heyday of Dinky and part of the desirable range of advertising vans made during the period 1950-61.
This ‘Ever Ready’ Guy Van is in all original condition with a lustrous mid-blue finish and very near perfect transfers on both sides.
Few little speckled dots on the transfers and note that there is a small mark below ‘READY’ on one side. Shiny metal parts. Tiniest suggestion of a flat spot to one of the original tyres. Very small light scratch on the cab roof (minor!). Minute scrutiny will find the occasional negligible mark/light rub besides.
Looks af it has spent most of the last 55 or so years tucked away in the box! Tyres are the originals and the spare wheel is present too.
The box is complete and fresh-looking, with glowing colours. No repairs or grubbiness. Staples are somewhat tarnished now, but no rust staining to the box. Little storage crease to the deep blue box base. No shelf rubbing to the box base underside. Dated 1956 from the Dinky stamp inside the box lid. Period pencilled price at a lid end.
Tiny wear only to this ‘DINKY SUPERTOYS’ box.
