Notes
This eye-catching Dinky commercial was made during 1953-56 and is a sought-after Dinky model.
With a high profile classic model such as this, the first priority is its originality. Thoroughly checked over, we are pleased to say that this example is authentic throughout. In close to mint condition, this Foden Tanker has retained its colour vibrancy and notably the transfers are complete-virtually complete (few tiny pinprick nicks) at sides and rear. 2nd type cab, black ladder and black filler caps. Shiny metal parts throughout and that includes the axle ends. As-new original black treaded tyres.
A couple of little marks to three wheel arches (only), and a tiny stray couple of flecks of transfer beneath the letter ‘M’ of Mobilgas on one side. An exceptional item with a well-shaped, undented tinplate tank, happily free of the usual crazing too. 20 mph label still in place.
The colourful, striped ‘DINKY TOYS’ box is clean and complete. No splits or repairs. Little age wear/rubbing as you might expect. Box base is deep blue and that includes the portion exposed to light too. Shiny staples. No graffiti. Well-stored. Dated 1954 from the factory stamp inside the box lid.
