Notes
We are thrilled to be able to offer these remarkable models for sale. Issued in extremely low numbers at the time, they were assembled and painted in Arica, a duty-free city on the Northern tip of Chile. These exceptionally rare models were discovered by a collector on a trip to South America. The castings were made in Italy and then assembled and painted in Chile.
Standard Mercury issue is a rally car (as pictured on the box) , whereas the Chilean version is painted in a slightly different shade of red and is a road car. White painted cast wheels, lemon detailed interior, and cream steering wheel.
Black painted screwed base. Smooth-running original tyres
Few little marks to the paint finish and note that one of the spotlights is missing now.
Colourful, clean and crisp card box has scarcely any wear at all. Note the all-important ?ARMADO EN ARICA? (Made in Arica) stamp on the inside surface of one large end flap and on one non-picture side of the box. .
