C503
Corgi 503 Circus Giraffe Transporter with Giraffes. Very, very near mint/boxed, with mother & baby giraffes. A 1st for us - scarce late issue in a WINDOW BOX, model with CAST WHEELS. From a large, stunning diverse collection with many items in old shop stock condition. Opened for the first time to take these pictures.
Notes
From one of the largest, private collections we have ever seen, with many items bought new at the time and stored away until now. Taken as a whole, the collection provides an exciting, kaleidoscopic snapshot of popular diecast toys issued during the 1960?s -1970?s.
From the popular range of circus models issued between 1964-70, this is the very scarce late issue with cast wheels (usual issue has spun wheels). In very, very close to mint condition, this is an exceptional find. Note that both wing mirrors are in place complete with both reflective strips. Bright, fresh and complete “CHIPPERFIELDS CIRCUS” labels on both sides and, of course – two giraffes (one mother and baby)! Deeply -coloured (various shades exist).
Vibrant intense colours of both the model’s paint finish and blue plastic back (often found age-discloured this example looks day-one fresh throughout).
If you want to fault it, you could note the faint windscreen rub (probably caused by movement of the giraffes on its journey to us).
Rare to find in the* window box*, this is surely one of the best surviving examples. Such bright clean and fresh card and smooth original cellophane. Opened once or twice ever.
We are delighted to offer this rare variation in such fine condition.
