C448
Corgi 448 B.M.C. Mini Police Van with Tracker Dog. SPUN WHEELS issue. Very near mint/boxed, with packing piece. From The Renos Louka Collection.
Notes
A collection some 20 years in the making. Renos Louka from Virginia Water, Surrey specialised in Film & TV models. His interest was due to his occupation of supplying camera and lighting equipment to the film, TV and broadcast industry.
A superb example of this popular Corgi model made between 1964-69. In very close to pristine condition, this model has been looked after most carefully. It contains an Austin Police Mini Van in deep blue finish with a red detailed interior, shining shaped spun wheels with suspension, aerial, jewelled headlights and perfect ‘POLICE’ on both sides.
The keenest eyes will eventually find a tiny dot at the rear door handle and a tiny mark on the roof.
Also included are the original figures of the police dog handler and tracker dog complete with his lead (often missing!). All safely slotted in to the crisp and bright inner plinth with a colourful backdrop. Note that there are no tears to the wheel slots (which have their push-out pieces still in situ), and just one minute tear to one of the figure slots. Little bend to the upstand, which could probably be persuaded back into line.
On the reverse, there is background information on both the B.M.C. Mini Van and the training of the Alsation police dog, and the work they do.
Comes complete with the little card packing piece.
The outer box is very crisp, fresh and brightly-coloured with a pleasing silky feel to the card, so showing minimal handling. Fainting crease in one small area and a small tear to the tuck-in part of one large end flap. Tiny wear besides. No graffiti.
A fine all-original example which is difficult to resist!
