CGS3
Corgi Gift Set 3 "Thunderbird" Guided Missile on Assembly Trolley & R.A.F. Land Rover. Near mint plus -very near mint/boxed (wear) but with PACKING SLEEVE. From a high quality collection in the U.S.
Notes
A scarce set – it has been such a long time since we have offered one of these for sale. Issued between 1959-63, this set comprises:
i) 350 Thunderbird Missile in silver with a red plastic nose cone, on Trailer (RAF Blue finish with black plastic swivelling wheels, black plastic tow ring and metal clips to hold the missile in place). Very near mint.
ii) 351 Land Rover in RAF Blue finish with a tin tilt, flat spun wheels (shiny), tow hook, RAF roundel, as-new original tyres and spare on the bonnet. Outstanding lustre! Just one little mark visible upon closest scrutiny and and a couple of little marks on the tinplate tilt. Note the faint paint blemish on the roof of the tinplate tilt (hard to describe and not visible in the pictures – a couple of faint ‘squiggly’ lines of original paint is the nearest we can get!). Shiny base.
Slim outer box is complete, if a little grubby and ‘tired’ now. Note the printed instructions on all small end flaps. Comes complete with the original card packing sleeve! Early ‘Moorgate’ Corgi Club Membership Form is included too.
