Notes
This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection ? painstakingly upgrading until he had the best examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.
This GMC tanker is a sought-after item indeed from the French Dinky factory issued between 1969-70 only. This particular example is in very close to mint condition.
Couple of the most minor marks to the paint finish if you really study it minutely and the delicate transfers are complete on both sides (so often flaky/incomplete!). Paper label “Liquides Inflammables” is intact at the rear of the truck. The filler caps on the top of the tank are always susceptible to damage – rarely are they found perfectly intact. This model has both hinged filler caps complete and intact!
Note the little scuff to the front of the plastic tank and a little stain/glue residue behind one of the front lights detail (may be possible to carefully clean away).
The bright yellow base on which the truck sits is clean and fresh. Very minor wear at wheel slots (and less than you might expect considering the weight of the model in comparison to the comparatively flimsy card). Also, this item comes complete with another bright yellow card packing piece which protects the filler caps on the roof (one crease, tiny wear).
Complete with all accessories i.e. unapplied transfers and Road Sign contained within the original still-sealed bag. Promotional leaflet too.
The pictorial card box is bright, clean and complete. Minor age wear including the occasional little crease/light scuff. Tiniest start of a tear to the tuck-in part of the large end flaps. No graffiti. Presents well.
Hard to find this good!
