C317
Corgi 317 Mini Cooper 'S' Monte Carlo '64. Near mint/boxed. In plain stamped box. Really crisp and clean! Scarce. From a childhood collection of toys in Denmark.
Notes
Issued between 1964-65, this is one of the range of exciting racing Minis produced by Corgi during this period. Extremely popular at the time, they are even more sought-after by collectors these days!
A fresh and original red and white finish on this racing model with a bright silver, swivelling spotlight on the roof (no robbing to the chrome finish!). Bold print racing number ‘37’ on both doors are complete. ‘Monte Carlo’ bonnet transfer is notably intact too and thankfully free of the near-obligatory centre line rub. Bright jewelled headlights and an attractive original finish on the silver radiator and bumper. Rear transfer lacks a very small top portion (where it would have covered over the boot catch). Shiny spun wheels with suspension and supple fine tread tyres.
Corgi Accessory tax disc has been added and there is a little residue at the rear where a GB sticker has been attached. Few mere dots to the paint finish only.
Initial ‘B’ in nail varnish on the base may be carefully removed.
The crisp and clean scarce stamped box shows barely any age wear whatever. Price label on one side.
Delightful period touch – the owner stored a picture of the model in the box and on the reverse there is a handwritten date 29th April, 1964.
