D159
Dinky 159 Morris Oxford Saloon. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce example in cerise and ivory with cream ridged wheels. From a private collection of Dinky and Corgi models, mostly purchased during the early 1980's at U.K. auction houses.
Notes
A classic Dinky model issued just during 1954 with a shining cerise and ivory paint finish, cream hubs. In all original condition with a shining silver trim.
Obviously unplayed-with and carefully handled, this fine model has a few negligible marks only to the paint finish, including a few minor casting dots on the roof.
Bright baseplate and shiny axles (including the ends) too. Smooth-running original tyres.
The pictorial card box, displaying the correct two-colour spot, is clean and bright with minor handling wear and the start of a tear at an end flap. Faintly pencilled period price at an end flap.
These two-tone classic Dinky cars are becoming increasingly scarce and have proven to be an excellent investment.
