D100
Dinky 100 Lady Penelope's Fab 1. Near mint/boxed. Sought-after 1st issue. Complete with firing rocket and four harpoons. From The Cheshire Collection
Notes
Inspired by the Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds T.V. series from the ’60’s. This Fab 1 model is finished in non-fluorescent pink, the earliest issue with the pink stripes on the clear sliding roof.
Gold interior and both original seated figures of Lady Penelope and Parker. It comes with an intact bonnet emblem, jewelled headlights. No number plates.
The sliding roof is pefectly intact and slides nicely. The car comes complete with a firing rocket and four rear harpoons (originally factory- stapled to the card stand).
Both the front rocket and the rear harpoons fire.
Tiny marks at the side raised body line.
Shiny wheels – version with five spoked, domed wheels.
Wear to the finish on the bumpers and radiator.
The colourful card stand is crisp and bright. A little wear and rubbing as you might expect – this is a heavy vehicle! Some rubbing to the card in places has been disguised with a little black pen marking.
Instructions are on the reverse of the card stand, detailing how to fire the front rocket and rear harpoons.
The pictorial card box is clean and bright with vivid colours. Crisp feel. Period pencilled price at an end flap. Minor wear only. Hard to find this good.
One of the most sought-after Gerry Anderson inspired Dinky models!
