Notes

A sought-after and scarce Gift Set issued between 1966-68 and only available by Mail Order at the time.
This exciting and colourful set comprises:

1) Corgi 1138 Ford Car Transporter in red, blue & silver.
Near mint with the occasional little mark. Straight horns on the roof. Both wing mirrors are intact and complete with the little mirror pieces too. 4 plastic chocks.

2) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in pale lilac blue with a red interior. Near mint with several little pin prick marks. Rubbing to the number plate.

3) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper in red & black with ‘wickerwork’ side detail. Near mint with notably complete wickerwork panels. Lustrous finish and jewelled headlights. Intact suspension on detailed cast wheels. Several little edge marks/dots.

3) Corgi 251 Hillman Imp in vivid blue. Near mint plus. Little rub on the roof and no suspension on one wheel. Suitcase is included.

4) Corgi 252 Rover 2000 in metallic deep plum. Excellent plus. Few little marks and touch-ins. Suspension.

5) Corgi 321 Austin Mini-Cooper in red with roof signatures of Timo Makinen and Paul Easter. Excellent. All four jewelled lights and very nearly complete- complete transfers. Few edge marks and a little retouching/repainting visible upon close scrutiny. Suspension on bright spun wheels.

6) Corgi 440 Ford Cortina Estate in metallic blue. Excellent. Sprinkling of play marks.

All contents are housed in a polystyrene tray which is bright and complete. A little grubbiness. Complete with Corgi label with dog logo still in place (light edge creases).

The colourful card lid has certainly benefitted from being housed in the plain card over-sleeve for all these years.
Colours are really bright and fresh! No tears or graffiti. Minor age wear and a few stain spots at the sides.

Outer card sleeve is intact, with minor ruffling at edges.

A rare set; some models could be easily upgraded over time. As is always the case with rare Gift Sets – it is the box that is most prized!
